How do you practice self-care?
Do you tend to all aspects of self or does self-care mean indulging in an ice-cream, a massage or catching up with the latest drama series on Netflix? These options can be a nice pick-me-up and good entertainment, but is this what self-care truly mean?
After a long day, many may consider a glass of wine and netflix as a way to relax. While there is nothing wrong with this, both alcohol and netflix are actually tools that serve to disconnect you.
True self-care is achieved through connection
Taking time to spend time with yourself, connecting with your body, emotions, inner landscape and your true essence. Disconnection, is the reason why we feel empty inside.
I resonate with Brianna West’s definition of true self-care. It is about creating a home you don’t need to regularly escape from. I recall the times I spent on getaways to Bali for “time out” and relaxation. In reality I did that frequently to run away from life. Chasing a new/different experience to escape my day-to-day.

Self-care through connection and for all aspects of Self
In the safe container of a cacao ceremony, meaningful connection is faciliated with others and Self. The busy mind gets to slow down and truly relax. You are grounded in the present moment. Along with the gentle heart opening medicine of cacao, you leave feeling the warmth of connection and an open heart.
In a cacao ceremony, you are caring for all aspects of you – the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual.
The gentle heart opening medicine of Cacao
I attended my first Cacao Ceremony in 2019 and fell in love with the experience. The open hearted bliss, emotional release and deep connection I felt in my first ceremony was so powerful and special, I knew immediately I wanted to share this experience so others could benefit from it.
Although the taste of ceremonial cacao was too strong and bitter intially, I felt drawn to this gentle medicine from the start. Since 2020, I have incorporated cacao as a part of my daily meditation and self care routine. Over time, I began to notice mama cacao’s gentle medicine in effect and witnessed how cacao changed my life.
Cacao Ceremony to level up your self-care

If you’d like to attune to your heart and connect more with you inner landscape and emotions, I highly recommend starting a daily ritual with cacao. It can be as simple as mindfully preparing and sipping your cacao each morning, along with a 5 minute meditation.
I really love the experience of a cacao ceremony because it’s where I feel most connected to myself and others. I suggest making it a monthly routine.
Don’t just take my word for it, try it for yourself. Observe how a commitment to this self-care routine can improve your life! You are invited to join me for a small group cacao ceremony in Singapore.
